September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month, and SISC brings you in-depth educational sessions.

These sessions will focus on providing resources and tips for people living with Sickle Cell and the public.

SISC will provide education and awareness programs in September on different Sickle Cell topics from trait, planning, advocacy with lawmakers, family violence resources, LGBTQ Sickle Cell Community and the available resources.

SISC will also launch its long-awaited Digital Career Training programs for Sickle Cell families.

Starting in September, each week, there will be a different speaker and topic related to sickle cell and trait education and awareness.

SISC has experienced, monitored, and observed the needs of individuals living with sickle cell and concluded the following:

People in the Sickle Cell community are undereducated on Sickle Cell and don’t know how to find the resources or advocate for themselves.

Lack of resources has led so many People living with Sickle Cell to suffer unnecessarily because they cannot locate the resources or help.

Even the general public is struggling with the topic of Sickle Cell and trait or how someone can get Sickle Cell or the trait.

Therefore, we need to provide education and awareness for the public and people living with Sickle Cell.
