From the Heart of a Sickle Cell Patient

I feel your Pain and Frustration.

I cried in my spirit to the point I thought all hope was gone.
The pain in my body is like business as usual, weakness has been part of my daily routine.

My tongue doesn’t have any taste due to the medications.

I am limited to so many things, especially giving up things I like doing because I am afraid not have the so-called Sickle cell crisis.

In the midst of the struggle, the never-ending pain and the tears flowing from my eyes, I decided to stay focused although it was hard. My determination becomes bigger; my vision seems clearer and instead of my desire to be healthy, it changes to a desire to be STRONG AND FIGHT TO WIN.

Remembering: Ti’binta, Franclyn, Victor and Ronia. They fought the battle and they are safe in heaven where they feel no more pain.
